We believe in the power of young people to lead transformational change.

Youth Ambassadors, our signature youth empowerment program, provides teens with social emotional and leadership skills, empowering them to find purpose and develop the life-readiness and critical thinking needed to make an impact on the world.

By building compassionate relationships with themselves, their communities and the wider world, Youth Ambassadors become future-ready, empathetic leaders compelled to take action on the issues they care about most.

Youth Ambassadors (YAMs) are engaged citizens and collaborative problem-solvers. They impact a broad range of cause areas including mental health & well-being, climate change, poverty, hunger, homelessness, gender & racial equality, social justice, and access to education.

Global Impact

YAMs also take their service beyond borders by traveling internationally to aid in the construction of schools for rural, indigenous communities in Central America through our REACH program. An immersive and life-changing experience, this capstone project deepens their cultural competency and understanding of global education issues.

Being a Youth Ambassador for In a Perfect World has completely changed my life. It has fostered my growth, leadership and communication skills, and has helped me find my voice in this world. Today, I am confident enough to create a change in whatever I am passionate about and have the tools to help myself as well as others. I have acquired a new family that I know will always support, uplift and inspire me.

Many Youth Ambassadors have been part of the IAPW family for many years. Starting in our Dreamcatchers program, they begin learning about social issues. Once they’ve graduated and become Youth Ambassadors, they’re prepared to take a deeper dive and even greater impact, now and into the future.

What my three children have learned as Youth Ambassadors for In a Perfect World has been the most impactful, formative, and character-building experiences of their lives. In a Perfect World has empowered them to discover the power within themselves to make positive changes in their community and in the world, and to lean forward, even as youth, as thought leaders and responsible humanitarians. These experiences have positively influenced the trajectory of their lives, and they will be change-makers, true leaders, and genuine givers because of In a Perfect World’s impartation of servant leadership.
