At In a Perfect World, we are thrilled to shine a spotlight on our amazing partnership with Washington Global Charter School (WGS) in Washington, D.C. This September, we’re excited to share the impactful work that has come out of our collaboration over the 2023-2024 school year.

Empowering Students Through Dreamcatchers and INSPIRE

Throughout the past school year, 120 students from WGS participated in our Dreamcatchers and INSPIRE programs. These initiatives are designed to ignite passion and foster a sense of responsibility in young minds, helping them to grow into compassionate leaders.

Making a Difference with SOUPer Bowl

WGS students have emerged as true champions in our fight against hunger. As part of the SOUPer Bowl service initiative, our 7th and 8th graders organized two highly successful food drives serving 1,000+ people in the community. Their efforts not only provided essential support to those in need but also demonstrated their commitment to making a tangible difference in their community.

Deep Dive into Food Equity

In addition to their hands-on service work, our 8th-grade students took their engagement a step further by exploring critical food equity issues. Through dedicated research projects, they investigated topics such as food deserts, access to healthy food, and global food inequities. Their findings and proposed solutions reflect a deep understanding of these pressing challenges and a strong commitment to finding ways to address them.
