In A Perfect World Foundation announced that it has been honored with a prestigious 2015 Top‐Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.

”10 years ago, a little boy in a homeless shelter said to me, “in a perfect world, I’d have a blue crayon.” Little did he know that he would inspire me to build an international foundation based on this idea of a ‘perfect world.’ Talking to children from all walks of life, living in various circumstances, I discovered that a child’s ‘world’ could be as simple as their classroom, their room in a foster home, or even their neighborhood. What was important to me, was to hear those voices and to empower those children to spark meaningful change. 19 schools, 500 teacher projects and 30,000 kids later… I’d say we’ve succeeded,”” says Manuela Testolini, founder and president of In A Perfect World Foundation.

In A Perfect World reaches yet another milestone this year, as December marks its 10-year anniversary. Since 2008, In a Perfect World has provided over $95,000 in support to high poverty schools in Los Angeles. In a Perfect World has been a long time supporter of arts empowerment activities for children & youth in foster care, transitional housing and abuse treatment centers.

The Top-Rated Nonprofit award was based on the large number of positive reviews that In A Perfect World received – reviews written by volunteers, donors and clients. People posted their personal experience with the nonprofit. For example, one person wrote, “As executive director of a nonprofit supported by In A Perfect World, I am deeply grateful for the interest the foundation has demonstrated in our community based organization. Manuela Testolini and the entire foundation team have shown themselves to be passionate about improving the lives of children and knowledgeable about the importance of foundation support in achieving that mission.”

In A Perfect World Foundation was part of the inaugural group to qualify for the year. In addition, we’ll been added to GreatNonprofits #GivingTuesday Guide—an interactive guide to top nonprofits throughout the years. Look for this near the holidays.

“Savvy donors want to see the impact of their donations more than ever,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits, “People with direct experience with In A Perfect World have voted that the organization is making a real difference.”
