In a rapidly evolving digital world, it’s crucial that our youth not only stay connected but also use their voices to drive positive change. Our GoodTech curriculum is designed to do just that—integrate digital literacy with civic engagement and social-emotional learning to foster 21st-century leadership skills. Through hands-on experiences and youth-driven projects, students explore how technology, art, music, and podcasting can be powerful tools for social change.
Through GoodTech, students engage in a series of interactive modules that encourage them to explore how technology can be used for social impact. They learn about the power of art, music, and podcasting to raise awareness, inspire action, and amplify their voices on the issues that matter most to them.
Students start their journey by discovering how digital tools can amplify their voice and make a difference. They engage in activities where they learn to use social media for advocacy, and create their own digital projects inspired by the “In a Perfect World” song. This module sets the foundation for using technology as a force for good.
Students dive deep into causes they’re passionate about. They learn how to identify reliable information and understand the importance of digital literacy. Through activities like “Choose a Cause,” they explore global and local issues, and develop the skills to become informed and thoughtful advocates.
We encourage students to experiment with various forms of digital expression. From creating protest art to exploring the impact of music for social change, they learn how to use multimedia to tell compelling stories and influence their audience.
Students analyze examples of youth activism through art and then create their own digital artworks that reflect their vision for a better world. They use platforms like Canva and Google Slides to design impactful pieces that communicate their message visually.
Students learn the art of storytelling through audio. They plan, script, and record their own podcasts on topics they care about, using platforms like Soundtrap and Garageband. By the end of the module, they have their own podcast episodes ready to share with the world.
Students explore the role of music in activism by writing and composing their own songs. They study examples and create lyrics and melodies that reflect their hopes, dreams, and calls for change.
